- Entertaining mathematics for adults.
- To interest children in elementary and secondary schools in mathematics.
July 1, 2022, I created a telegram channel MathProblem in which I post one problem every day:
- The problems are divided into topics and follow in order of increasing complexity. Solving one gives you the skills to solve the next.
- The problems themselves are selected from non-standard problems of mathematical circles for children 8-12 years old.
- Definitions have links to Wikipedia.
- For clarity and for liveliness, pictures are added to the problems.
- This is a good challenge for the child to think, learn and find a solution on their own.
- For adults, it's an entertaining mind trainer, the problem is interesting to discuss with colleagues at lunch.
Please join. Try to solve problems on your own for a few days.
Goals- To teach the ability to think, to independently obtain new results; give the experience of mathematical discovery.
- Develop three skills: "the first is the ability to distinguish truth from lies; the second is the ability to distinguish meaning from nonsense; the third is the ability to distinguish the understandable from the incomprehensible" (V.Uspensky)
Mathematics is a creative activity; there is no technology for obtaining new mathematical knowledge. The only way to learn how to swim is to try it anyway; just watching others do it is not enough. So the only way to teach mathematical discovery is practice: problem solving, which represents the discovery of new knowledge for the student.
Approach sourceThe system of sheets of N.Konstantinov was taken as the basis for the structure of problems.
