News Keeper started with a simple goal: getting real-time notifications for new articles.
I used Feedly for reading blogs, but it had one major drawback—it didn’t send notifications. I’d forget to check for weeks, only to find 50+ unread articles, which I’d end up marking as read without actually reading them. To fix this, I built News Keeper as a Telegram Mini App.
In many countries, Telegram channels are a primary news source, so integrating an RSS reader directly into Telegram made sense. News Keeper supports:
- RSS feeds for tracking blogs and news sites
- Telegram channels for following updates natively
- YouTube and Reddit, so you don’t miss new videos or discussions
Unlike basic Telegram bots, News Keeper is a full Mini App with a proper UI, making it easier to browse and manage feeds. You can also use keyword-based filters, similar to Feedly and Google Alerts, to refine your feed and avoid irrelevant content.
